Icon design is a passion of mine. I love the mix of creativity, problem-solving, and structure. I’ve designed icons for several styles and platforms, including UI icons, app icons, and unified icon systems. I have produced icons for independent developers, small businesses, and major tech clients like Microsoft and HP.
Client:
Microsoft Visual Studio
As part of the Visual Studio icon design team for several years, I created thousands of pixel-perfect icons for Visual Studio, designed to meet Microsoft’s strict iconography guidelines. Each icon was designed to symbolize often complex functions and features, designed for clarity and recognizability, even at 16×16 pixels, and delivered in multiple sizes and formats to ensure consistency and usability across the platform.
Sample pages from the Visual Studio Icon Dictionary, showing each icon element alongside examples of how it’s used across the broader icon system.
A small selection of Visual Studio icons after the icon style was updated. These icons were designed as scalable vector files in SVG format.
Client:
Predator Gaming
I designed a set of icons in Figma for Predator Gaming’s Zuberence portal, each representing a site feature. To match the brand’s gaming aesthetic, I created a distinctive neon light effect in Photoshop for the icons, enhancing the user experience while staying true to Predator’s identity.
Client:
Hewlett-Packard
I designed several sets of icons for Hewlett Packard’s printers and software applications. Each icon was designed to be visually distinctive, easy to understand at a glance, and aligned with HP’s brand. By keeping the designs simple yet eye-catching, the icons improved the overall user experience, helping users quickly identify features and navigate applications more efficiently.

A collection of icon sets I designed in the early 2000s for independent software developers and small businesses. Many of these were created in the classic Windows XP–era style, with soft gradients, highlights, and the dimensional look common to applications and websites of that time.

A selection of iPhone app icons I designed in the early 2000s, using the classic rounded-corner, glassy square style that defined iOS app icon design at the time.
